November 27, 2018 6:28 pm

Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Parveen Kumar has hit out at opposition members for their continuous effort to take the nation backward.

Kumar claims those on the other side of the parliament during campaigning and even on Monday portrayed their greed and selfishness over the interest of Fijians.

Kumar took a swipe at the opposition saying they are continuously misleading the people.

“The campaign by SODELPA to get back to the 1997 constitution was only because of greed and selfishness. Madam Speaker greed and selfishness to once again appeal to i-Taukei voters on the past by spreading false news and outright lies of threats about indigenous rights and alienation of their land.”

Kumar also asked NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad to confirm talks of coalition with SODELPA during the general election.

However, Opposition Leader Sitiveni Rabuka clarified their talks with NFP.

“We spoke to them about coming together in a grand coalition and forming a new identity that was not possible because they have their own character so they decided to work on their own we respected that but our views about FijiFirst government is the same.”

The NFP leader told FBC News he will respond to the claims made against the party during his maiden speech tomorrow.
