Minister for Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya says the Fijian Trade Framework Policy aims to ensure continuing the coordinated and consistent approach to our national development agenda.
Koya made the statement in Parliament yesterday in response to a question from Opposition parliamentarian, Netani Rika about the benefits of the framework.
Minister for Trade Faiyaz Koya explained that the core function of the framework is to bring together all the trade investment-related agencies including the private sector and civil society to have a coordinated approach to growing trade and investment opportunities.
“It’s a 10-year document that has a mid-term review and however yearly and two yearly reviews will be undertaken to ensure that the implementation is on tract and also to take into account new and revised recommendations to enhance the framework. It is actually it’s a living document; it’s not set in stone.”
The Minister added that the framework implementation mechanism is an all inclusive process at all levels.
It involves the government, civil society and the private sector.
