Winds have picked up on the island of Koro says DISMAC officer based on the Island, Sevaloni Nakalevu.

Nakalevu says the weather is beginning to deteriorate on Koro as Tropical Cyclone continues to approach the Fiji waters.

“In Koro the winds are very strong with heavy rain and we are here with the DISMAC team. We have also identified 10 evacuation centres in Koro in the various villages here on the island.”

We have also got confirmation from Taveuni, that they are already receiving moderate to heavy rain and occasional strong winds.

FBC News has been informed that Holy Cross Primary School is sheltering villagers from nearby moving in to take shelter.
