The appointment of Major General Jioji Konusi Konrote is the right choice says the Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

Speaking after Konrote’s swearing in as the new President this morning, Ratu Wiliame says Konrote’s appointment is sanctioned by Parliament and the people and we have to rally behind him in support.

Ratu Wiliame says Konrote is more than capable of fulfilling his new role.

“He is a gentleman. He is very down to earth. He is a good natured person. A very respectful person and I think he will be on par with the outgoing president. They have the same value, they share the same sentiments and they are for the people – they are people persons.”

Konrote takes up his three year Presidency role from today.
