KOICA to build Pacific office in Suva

Relations between the Fijian government and the government of Korea will be further enhanced with the opening of the Korea International Cooperation Agency – KOICA Pacific office in Suva next year.

Korea’s Ambassador to Fiji, Seong-in Kim says the KOICA Pacific office will be opened in March 2016.

Kim says the opening of the KOICA office in Suva is indicative of the close relations that Korea has with Fiji since establishing relations in 1971.

He says the KOICA office in Suva that will look after the Pacific region is another example of their commitment towards the Pacific and in particular Fiji.

Trade between Fiji and Korea is growing steadily and Ambassador Kim says the opening of the office will also elevate its relations with Fiji to a new level.

Fiji’s Ambassador to Korea Filimone Kau says the opening of KOICA’s office in Suva indicates Korea’s strong relations with Fiji and its desire to strengthen its relations and presence in Fiji and the Pacific.
