Major repair works by Fulton Hogan Highways Joint Venture is making a difference to the Kings Road, North of Korovou town.

The works include construction of batters or earth slopes, road excavation and alignment of roads.

The section of Kings Road undergoing work includes the recently completed Verata straight as well as the sites of the Naiborebore and Kasavu slips.

At Kasavu, a slip last year resulted in the loss of half of the road when a section became waterlogged and slipped down the hill.

To ensure there would be no further slippage at the site seven trucks, making several trips a day, have transported approximately twelve thousand cubic meters of fill material from Naiborebore to Kasavu.
