The Commissioner Northern and his heads of departments are working on development plans that will encourage the exchange of money within rural communities.

In briefing the Prime Minister earlier this week, Lieutenant Colonel Ilai Moceica said they have devised plans to keep the rural economy vibrant.

He says these plans will ensure that those in rural areas will not have to seek other markets.

Moceica says the rural to urban movement is a major contributor to poverty.
