Students in Kadavu are being encouraged to apply to the National Toppers Scheme.
Fiji Higher Education Commission Senior Communications Officer, Epi Rawalai, says the teachers and parents play an important role in guiding their children.
A government roadshow is underway in Kadavu, where students are being helped to attain scholarships.
“These national priorities have been identified by our National Strategic Planning Department or office and they have pointed out about twelve focus areas where our priorities lie in terms of qualifications and trainings that we need. So it is important that students understand these – you know topics like Marine Biology and Engineering.”
The awareness conducted by the Education Ministry is aimed at broadening the students’ knowledge of the opportunities on offer.
