Junk food advertisements concerns Education ministry

Concerns have been raised by the Education Ministry on junk food advertisements.

Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary Nemani Drava says while the ministry is trying to promote healthy living among students, advertisements on junk food is a drawback.

Drava says the ministry now has a school health program which will target students as young as five to eight years.

Ten schools are part of the program.

Drava says the ministry is planning to expand its program to seven other schools this year.
