Suva High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera is today expected to sum up the case in relation to a 28-year-old man who allegedly raped a 14-year old girl in Nausori last year.

The prosecution and the defense gave their closing submissions yesterday afternoon.

The man is charged with one count of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of indecent assault.

It’s alleged the man raped the 14- year-old girl on February 13th.

It’s also alleged the man attempted to rape and indecently assault the girl on April 30th last year.

The defense lawyer Jitendra Reddy said his client chose to testify and his evidence were consistent with the statement given to the police.
