July 12, 2012 7:26 pm

The Health Ministry remains hopeful that the joint venture they have undertaken with the sahyadri group of hospitals in India will help reduce the current brain drain.

Dr Charudutt Apte says the MOU signed yesterday will not only benefit those who need the best health care available but also lift the knowledge of local doctors and nurses.

“We would be very happy and we are in a process of starting the educational initative to train young nurses and doctors to work and study with us in India so that they return and serve their country. Also through this iniative we hope that in the near future, speciality health care will be available for every common man not only in Fiji but throughout the Pacific.”
