Calls has been made for people and especially the male population to join the march tomorrow which is being held to advocate on violence against women.
Minister for Women and Children, Mereseini Vuniwaqa says they are targeting the male heads of companies and their employees to join the national effort to eradicate violence from homes.
Vuniwaqa says the march is to mark the launch of the Man Up campaign which is aimed to encourage the involvement of men in the fight against gender based violence.
“The subject of violence of violence against women is not new and no longer unheard of. Violence against women is gender inequality and misogyny at its ugliest and most dangerous state. It is a widespread systematic violation of fundamental human rights and an enduring form of gender based discrimination and is the most destructive experience afflicting women and girls.”
The march starts at 8.30am tomorrow from Sukuna Park.
