Jittu murder trial continues

The trial of a forty-four-year-old man from Nadera who is alleged to have been involved in the death of a forty-eight-year-old man continues in the Suva High Court this afternoon.

Samson Lal is charged with one count of murder and the alleged incident occurred at Jittu Estate, Raiwaqa two years ago.

A witness, Arnold Dass of Jittu Estate, who took the stand today said the victim was his nephew who stayed with him as he did not have any place to stay.

When cross examined by the Prosecution, Dass said he stayed with his nephew, Lamuel Dass who was his brother’s son, until he ran away with his wife.

Defence questioned the witness if he was with him at his home on the night of the alleged offence, Dass replied yes.

It’s alleged that between May 27th and May 28th 2016, Lal allegedly murdered Lamuel Dass, who used to sell goods along Sese Street in Samabula, Suva.

The case will continue next week.
