The assistance is provided through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Programme for the provision of aquaculture equipment and heavy machinery for tilapia seed production.

Through this Grant, the Japanese Government will provide new aquaculture materials and a tractor to increase the annual tilapia seed production.

At the moment the station produces one million tilapia fingerlings annually.

The station is the only facility for tilapia seed production supporting 500 farmers in Fiji.
