Japan Fiji relations strengthened by alumni network

In 2018, 35 went to Japan to undergo training in various fields such as environment, education, health, water and disaster management.

Participants of this JICA Training are working with knowledge and skills they have learned in Japan for development of Fiji.

JAAF is a body of Fijian graduates of JICA training programs held in Japan.

JOCVs also play a significant role in Human Resource Development by transferring the know-how and expertise to local counterparts.
Currently, 28 volunteers who specialize in areas like education, health, environment, automotive engineering and food and catering are active in respective government bodies and NGOs all over Fiji.

The reception provided a forum to highlight recent achievements made through the two of the important schemes of Japan’s Official Development Assistance and to further strengthen the relationship between the JICA alumni, JOCVs as well as the people and governments of Japan and Fiji.
