Fiji Bureau of Statistics enumerators undergoing a one-week training in Suva.

Fijians that will be taking part in the 2019-2020 Household Income and Expenditure Survey have the right to ask for the enumerator’s ID cards.

Fiji Bureau of Statistics says 50 enumerators will be out on the field from the 11th of next month to conduct the survey in all four divisions.

Household Survey Unit Assistant, Simeli Drodroveivali says it’s important that Fijians are able to be assured that the information given to enumerators will be kept confidential and will be used for the study purpose only.

“They have every right to ask the enumerator please can you show us your ID. If they want to call the office to confirm, it’s their right – they can call us. If this person is taking part in the Household Income and Expenditure Survey. Once they show them their ID then we can confirm it to the household.”

6,000 families will be part of the survey.

The Fiji Bureau of Statistics enumerators are currently undergoing a one-week training in Suva which ends tomorrow.
