Itaukei affairs ministry review it’s MOU with Westpac

The Ministry of i-Taukei Affairs yesterday reviewed its Memorandum of Understanding with Westpac Banking Corporation, which was signed in 2016.

Through this MOU, Westpac provided financial services for villages in the 14 provinces under the ministry.

Permanent Secretary, Naipote Katonitabua commended the Westpac team for their financial journey with them.

Katonitabua also mentioned their new strategic development plans and vision to transform i- taukei families.

He says this includes the awareness and training of financial literacy services and upskilling household’s financial opportunities that are available.

The Manager for Westpac Bank Brett Hooker said a lot of progress has been made as the result of their valuable partnership with the Ministry.

Hooker says they were grateful to have assisted traditional Fijian leaders and micro entrepreneurs from the 14 provinces to build sustainable and profitable futures.
