Israeli NGO builds homes in Ovalau

The Government has commended the continuous foreign assistance provided to those whose lives were directly impacted by Cyclone Winston earlier this year.

This was relayed to an Israeli non-profit organization, Isra-AID, that helped rebuild homes for villagers of Vuma village in Ovalau.

Shmuel Ben-Shmuel, Israel’s non-resident Ambassador to Fiji was in Vuma village to witness the completion of work yesterday.

In his address to the people of Vuma this morning, HE Shmuel Ben-Shmuel said he was glad to be in the village.

Commissioner Eastern Division, Luke Moroivalu commended the Israeli Government for their efforts and for liaising with the NGO to provide assistance to the village.

It took Isra-AID fourteen working days to rebuild twenty four houses that were damaged by TC Winston.
