Investigations into rape of 7-year-old priority

November 19, 2015 4:03 am

The Acting Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says the investigations into the rape of a seven-year-old girl in Lautoka three weeks ago is still on the top list of priorities for the Fiji Police Force.

Qiliho who is making his first official visit to the Police Headquarters in the western division says whilst investigations is continuing, his presence in the division reinforces the work that is being carried out in Lautoka these past week.

“We’ve interviewed a few suspects and we don’t want to divulge any more information which could jeopardise the conduct of the investigation. We’d rather keep it at where we are while the experts in that field continue. And we are pleading for information. Saying more on that would jeopardise the conduct of the investigations.”
