Foreign Affairs Minister Inia Seruiratu confirms an investigation will be carried out to ascertain whether Fijian women were flown to Papua New Guinea to provide sexual services.
There are alleged reports that 12 young Fijian women were recently seen at a hotel in PNG at one stage but the hotel staff said there were about 20 or so and they were asked to provide services to PNG politicians.
“I will not make any further comments. Its allegation but we have to establish the facts and we will make the investigations.”
It is yet to be confirmed whether the alleged incident in question did happen however the report raises questions on whether this could be sex trafficking.
