Two teams have been assigned by the Fiji Military Forces to investigate the discovery of ammunitions in Lautoka last Friday.

A garbage bag containing a green pouch with one by 30 rounds and two loose caliber 5.66mm was discovered by a fifty-four-year-old man at the Navula Road junction.

Chief of Staff Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai says the outcome of the investigation will be known within 24 hours.

Kalouniwai says the ammunition may belong to them as it was discovered where military officers usually conduct their live firing exercise.

Kalouniwai is advising the public to remain calm and avoid spreading false information regarding the discovery.
