Investigation continues for all body find cases

A body of a 48-year-old man was found in a drain at Sarosaro Place in Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday morning.

The first eyewitness on sight, a 53-year-old woman says she discovered the body around 5.30am but had thought the man was knocked out after a drinking party the previous night.

Another eyewitness, Litiana Rokowati told FBC News, she received a call from her neighbour around 8am yesterday to see if she could identify the body of the deceased.

“This morning, around ten past eight (8.10am) my neighbor called me and said that a body of a dead man was in a drain beside her house. She was scared of it and she asked me to come and see if I could identify the deceased.”

Police have confirmed the victim is a divorcee working as a Gardner at Marist Champaign.

Police are now awaiting the post mortem result to determine their next course of action.

As that investigation continues, another is underway in relation to a body discovered in Vesida, Nabua on Tuesday afternoon.

A post mortem has also been conducted on a body that was discovered in Narere earlier this week.

Investigation is also underway in relation to the discovery of a man’s body in a pool in Cunningham, Nabua, by a 15-year-old boy two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, police investigation continues into the murder of 22-year-old Rayna Prasad who’s body was found in Muanikau, Suva earlier this week.

No arrests have been made in any of these cases.
