International events to continue despite Paris attacks

The Government of France has confirmed that the COP 21 meeting and all other international events in France will continue as planned.

This was reiterated by the French Ambassador to Fiji Michel Djokovic while speaking in Suva at the Memorial Service for the Paris attacks.

Djokovic gave his assurance to the French community, diplomatic corp and Senior government officials who attended the service.

“Paris is wounded but as our President put it against terror, France is a nation that knows how to defend its self, how to mobilize its forces and it will once again defeat the terrorist.”

Djokovic says they will ensure that all international events schedule to take place in France will continue, in particular the French Oceania Summit and the COP 21 meeting that will take place in France.

Djokovic stated that the essence of Paris and their way of life have been hit and he is adamant that the French Authorities will react strongly to this barbarian act.
