The installation of night lights at the Waiqele Airport in Labasa has been completed.

AFL Board Director Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere says they are only waiting for certain acquisition of land that is required to overcome an obstacle to the flight path.

FBC News understands the obstacle being referred to some hilly mountains beside the airport.

Ratu Wiliame says once this is completed, the night flights will commence.

The installation of the night lights began in August of 2017.
