‘’We’re confident in the measures taken by the multinational force and observers group and also by the battalion commander Lt Col Talemaivatuwiri on the ground. He’s been keeping us updated on the daily basis and like i said the situation is very fluid’’.

Cabemailau was injured after being shot in the North Camp where many of the Fijian soldiers are located when it came under fire from militants engaged with Egyptian forces two weeks ago.

They received indirect fire in the form of mortars and small arms impacting the vicinity of the camp.

However while manning of the fighting positions; Cabemailau was shot in the abdomen as a result of stray bullets.

Cabemailau was then evacuated to medical facilities in Israel.
