Initial damage for TC Josie and Keni stands at $91m

Initial damage assessments for the Western Division and Kadavu that were caused by Tropical Cyclones Josie and Keni currently stands at $91m.

This has been confirmed by National Disaster Management Office Director Anare Leweniqila who says that this is for all the sectors.

“The highest was in the Agriculture sector and that was around $40m-$50m and for Sugar majority of damage was in the Western Division and for other crops majority was in Kadavu in relation to Yaqona.”

He also adds that all assessments will be completed by next week.
