Despite last minute changes to arrangements for the annual Suva on Sale event, the Suva Retailers Association is satisfied with the sales so far.
Association president, Himmat Lodhia says things have worked out well.
“Its and experimental thing and so far we have seen it is working reasonably well and having Suva on Sale indoor – I think all the shop keepers are now aware that they should be giving specials and promoting products. Some shops may not be towing the line but I think most of the shops who are putting up sale the way Suva on Sale should be are raking the benefits.”
Retailers were prohibited from selling in street stalls because of changes to traffic routes in the city that could pose a risk to pedestrians.
Fiji Roads Authority has closed the bridge on Stinson Parade to carry out major repairs.
Suva on Sale will end on Saturday.
