India to help Fiji address climate change

India will help Fiji to deal with the impact of climate change.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi says both countries are aware how big the problem is… and India is ready to assist Fiji.

“India and Fiji feel the impact of climate change, we are also prepared to increase corporation in renewable energy especially solar and wind energy and in building capacity to adopt climate. In addition we will share experience and expertise in disaster management and response.”

The two governments have signed three Memoranda of Understanding which includes a line of credit, areas of exchange and training for diplomats and transfer of land to High Commission of India.

Modi says also commended Fiji for hosting a group of Indian scientists involved in the country’s first Mars Mission earlier this year.
