The Health and Medical Services Ministry has been allocated $27.7m for pharmaceutical and consumables.
Minister, Rosy Akbar, says this is an increase of $3.7m, which will help resolve the shortage of medicine.
“Increase funding for drugs and other supply’s will enable us to hold more stock in the country and help reduce the risk of stock running out which is occurring for long times. We often face this when importing items from overseas.”
The Ministry has been allocated $321.2m in the 2017/2018 budget which is an increase of over $77.2m.
