Increase in visitor numbers at Fiji Museum

The Fiji Museum has recorded an increase in visitors after it decided to allow children free access to the museum.

Director Meretui Ratunabuabua says a lot more children have visited the museum as part of their school visits.

She adds many children come with their parents during the holidays.

“There are activities that we are having during our Open Days has created a lot of interest from the local people and that is what we want to see. We want to see that our people looking at our heritage and knowing where it comes from.”

There are plans to set up new gallery at the Fiji Museum to attract more tourists.
