Inaugural morning tea for Society raises $8K

November 29, 2015 9:58 pm

The Fiji Red Cross managed to raise $8,000 at their inaugural morning tea in Suva earlier this month.

Society director general Filipe Nainoca says the morning tea is just one of the initiatives that they have to raise more funds.

Nainoca says there is tremendous support for the society when there is a disaster but otherwise people seldom give help.

Another crucial service the society provides is first aid training.

Last year the Society managed to train 3,491 citizens of Fiji and the Pacific on safety that includes First Aid & CPR.

This is an increase of 42 people in comparison to 2013.
