Fiji meets England in the semi-final of the Hong Kong rugby 7s tonight after having to work hard to beat Argentina 26-7 in the quarter-final this afternoon.

Coach Alivereti Dere started Jimilai Naikadawa in place of Waisea Nayacalevu to counter the physical Argentines but the national side took some time to get going.

Skipper Setefano Cakau says despite the win, there are areas of concern before facing the Poms in the last four.

“I thank the players for their efforts as it was a tough game but we came together and won the match. There are some areas that will need to be rectified before the semi final.”

Fiji’s tries were scored by Metuisela Talebula, Joeli Lutumailagi, Nayacalevu and Nikola Matawalu.

The Fiji-England match starts at 7.49pm (Fiji time).

Fiji has not been beaten England in the IRB series so far this season.

The national side lost to England in the Dubai 7s semi finals and a week later in the quarterfinals of the South Africa 7s again at the hands of the Poms.
