Ignite4Change engage youths in leadership workshop

You have to know how to exercise your constitutional rights.
These were the words of Ignite for Change Co-ordinator Broderick Mervyn while speaking to youths at Leadership, Good Governance, and Human Rights workshop in Nadi.
The workshop an initiative by Ignite for Change and supported by Western Charity Alliance aimed at bringing together representatives from the youth-led organizations, religious institutions, civil society and non – government organizations residing in the Western Division of Fiji.
Mervyn says many of us may not be governance specialists but we can equally relate to the impacts of good and bad governance.
The workshop also focuses on ways that citizens can exercise their constitutional rights and topics that were discussed includes understanding citizen’s rights, the rights of women and marginalized groups, how to deal with specific cases and work with national and local government.
The workshop was a need in the Western Division given the limited opportunities for community leaders and youths to engage and be involved.
