A number of government applications will be implemented following the engagement with the Singapore Corporation Enterprise.

While speaking at the National Conference on Information Technology, Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the need to build the ICT industry is vital if Fiji wants to position itself in the 21st century.

Sayed-Khaiyum says this will see the improvement of internal processes and efficiency, faster approval processes and registration, and streamlined service delivery.

“That’s the nature of this technology which basically also tells us that we need to ensure that we on top of the game and you as leaders in the ICT areas you need to be the ambassadors so whenever new changes introduced, you are able to tell people and communities around you that this is what we need to do otherwise you will get left behind and technology if put to the right use can be fantastic too”

He says there is a great need to develop ICT capacity in digital transformation.
