I will not stand for any political party: Tudravu

Newly appointed Tailevu Provincial Council Chairman, Rusiate Tudravu has clarified that he will not enter or stand for any political party.

Tudravu says taking up the role does not mean he’s planning to enter politics.

Given the responsibilities and the expectation that comes with his new role, Tudravu says he will ensure the Tailevu Provincial Council is not politically driven.

“I will not stand in any of the political parties, i am a career police officer and i am accepting this appointment because it is from government and its well within the ambit of the law and as I have stated I ‘am very much willing to serve my province and if this is one of the opportunity to be given, I will not step back that is why I’m coming forward but definitely there will not be any political talk in the provincial council and I am definitely not standing in any election.”

Tudravu says he’s not a political figure as he is a career public servant adding he will give his utmost best to deliver for the province of Tailevu and all Fijians.

Tudravu’s appointment came after a thorough selection process from the I-Taukei Affairs Board which was endorsed by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
