Former Parliament employee Iliesa Raiduduva says he was not aware of any instructions.

He says he didn’t know that only one copy of the video be made showing the altercation between Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and Opposition MP Pio Tikoduadua.

Acting Secretary-General to Parliament Viniana Namosimalua has clarified that Raiduduva was given the option to resign or face termination after she became aware that he had made a copy of the video and shared it.

Namosimalua said the former staff member was insubordinate.

“There were standing instructions on how the footage was to be dealt with, that is it would be kept with me, the only copy with me and then provided to the Police when they came to Parliament to investigate.”

Raiduduva says he wasn’t aware of any instructions.

“That she instructed me or there’s an email sent to all of us, that copy should be, I’m not aware of that instruction in the first place.”

The former Parliamentary staff maintains that he did not leak the video on social media.
