A 39 year old villager of Koro in Lomaiviti appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today charged with assault for punching his wife.

Suliasi Daulakeba had gone out to drink kava earlier this month and upon his return found that his wife was not home looking after their five children.

The two got into an argument after the man found that the wife had been consuming alcohol.

It was then that Daulakeba punched her, resulting in injuries.

He’s been bound over for $500 and warned not to re-offend or swear at his wife.
