Hurricane warning in place for Yasawa and Mamanuca

This is the special weather bulletin number 14 issued by the Nadi Met Office on the severe Tropical Cyclone Evan.

A hurricane warning is now in place for the Yasawa and Mamanuca Group.
A gale warning remains in force for Cikobia, Taveuni, Vanua Levu and nearby smaller islands, northern Lau, Lomaiviti Group and Viti Levu along with nearby smaller islands.

A tropical cyclone warning remains in force for Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

A strong wind warning remains in force for the rest of Fiji along with a warning for damaging heavy swells for the entire country.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Evan was located at 95km North-North West of Cikobia and 185km North North East of Labasa at 7pm today.

On this track, the cyclone is expected to be located about 60km North East of Yasawa or about 150km West of Labasa or about 170km North North East of Nadi at 7am.

At 7pm tomorrow, the cyclone is expected to be 175km South West of Yasawa or 115km West of Nadi.
