April 11, 2015 1:01 am

Hundreds of people gathered today to celebrate the life of Losana McGowan, at her residence in Veisari, outside Lami.

Friends, colleagues and family – gathered dressed in ‘bula wear’ and bright colors, to reflect McGowan’s personality – as a bubbly and vibrant person.

Delivering a eulogy on behalf of her workmates, Michael Pettersen, the Director Geosciences Division at the Secretariat of the Pacific said, McGowan will be sorely missed at the workplace.

More and more Losana became the wider life of the division. She very much enjoyed becoming part of analytical groups, focus groups looking at various things in SPC and how we can improve things with staff, with development, with all sorts of things, with work practices – all of these sorts of things. So, she loved strategy groups, support groups and as you can imagine she was not usually very quiet in them.

The former journalist was laid to rest at the Nasinu Cemetery.

She died following an alleged domestic dispute with her partner last Saturday.
