Ilaisa Jiko who has been working at the company for two years now says their employer needs to be fair.

Jiko says the company needs to be fair in terms of salary payments and improving working conditions.

He is amongst the 35 drivers who are still on strike.

Jiko says drivers who are part of the Transport Workers Union receive $3.45 per hour while non-unionized workers get $3.70.

“The rate at the moment is $3.45 an hour. And the drivers, if they work for eight hours, they will collect $152.35 for eight hours of work. That is not enough for us. What we are crying to the management if they could pay us $300 for eight hours of work for forty eight hours per week.”

Meanwhile, the Director of the bus company is expected to make a comment later today.
