The Fiji Human Rights and Anti Discrimination Commission says it will likely take away the child who was pictured on social media bound to a post, if the involvement of abuse is proven.

Human Rights Commissioner Sashi Kiran says they are working closely with the Police and Social Welfare Department in finding out the truth.

The child, whose picture went viral on Facebook days ago, had his hands and legs ties to a post.

“There seems some progress but it’s also a family matter so it’s confidential as well. So it has to be dealt with a bit of care.”

Kiran says once they understand the actual reason behind all this then a decision will be made to determine the actions they will take.

Meanwhile, Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirms they have managed to record the statements of two people who will be able to assist in the case.

Naisoro confirms their Cyber Crime Unit is continuing with investigation.
