Housing Authority annual report satisfactory says committee

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Affairs has given the 2015 Housing Authority’s annual report the all clear.

Committee Chair Viam Pillay says they were generally satisfied with the report with the Housing Authority recording a surplus of $2.234 million.

“The review looked at nine key areas covering the period from January to December 2015 conducted into the Housing Authority’s administrative structure, budgetary allocation, programs offered, policies, challenges, highlights, priorities for the coming years and its implementation of its Sustainable Development Goals. The committee is generally satisfied.”

Meanwhile, the Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum tabled two reports in the house this afternoon.

The 2016/2017 annual report on Parliament and the 2018 Office of the Auditor General report were both tabled to be scrutinized by the Public Accounts Committee in the coming weeks.
