House burns down in Nadi

A 2 bedroom corrugated iron house was completely destroyed in a fire at Waireba Road, Nadovi Nadi last night.

The house was vacant at the time of the incident as they had attended to a religious gathering at a nearby temple.

Before leaving the house the owner had put off the diya at the worship place and locked the house.

Neighbors alerted the owner of the house before it was reported to police.

Estimated cost of damage is $25,000 and the house belonged to a 52 year old self employed man of Nadi.

The Fiji Police Force is advising members of the public to ensure that a thorough checks are conducted before leaving their homes.
