The search continues for the third victim of the ill-fated Kaiwai which has already claimed the lives of two men.
FBC News can confirm that of the two dead, one is a South Korean National and the other a Fiji national.
The Fiji Navy is expected to decide today on whether they’re able to inspect the sunken barge having conducted an aerial search yesterday in which they were able to identify its approximate location.
FBC News understands the seas in which the barge capsized has an estimated depth that exceeds 70 meters which would be difficult for the Navy divers to get too.
The cargo barge Kaiwai reportedly sunk in rough seas early Tuesday morning while traveling to Bukama Island in the Yaswas.
Police and the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji continue to investigate the fatal accident.
