A corrugated iron and timber house at Matana Street in Nakasi was fully engulfed in flames this afternoon.

Chief Fire Officer Qionilau Moceitai says their team received a call at 12.51pm and immediately responded.

Moceitai says two fire trucks from Nausori and a fire truck each from Suva and Valelevu stations were engaged to put the fire out.

He says they also managed to stop the fire from spreading to other houses.

No one was at home at the time of the incident.

Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of fire.
