Hindus celebrate birth of Lord Krishna

Hindus around the country start the celebration for Krishna Janmashtami or the birth of Lord Krishna from today.

Lord Krishna is a Hindu God who was born as a human on the earth to save the life as well as remove the sufferings of his devotees.

Shri Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji General Secretary Virendra Lal says the main purpose of the birth of lord Krishna is to establish righteousness and bring people on the right path.

During the celebration people will fast and will be offering their love to Lord Krishna.

The celebrations end on September 5th.
