Hike in Dalo prices

December 24, 2016 2:27 am

The price of Dalo and other root crops and vegetables have increased drastically due to the recent floods.

Suva Market vendor, Sova Mocevakaca, says she bought sacks of Dalo from farmers who were affected and prices have skyrocketted, leaving her with no choice but to increase prices to customers.

“The Dalo price is quite high because most of the time around Christmas we sell it for thirty dollars now we selling it for forty to fifty dollars a bundle. Before the prices were getting better but after the flooding now prices are going back up again."
