The Vodafone Savusavu Hidden Paradise Carnival officially opened last night.
Carnival Committee Chair Vijay Chand says they have prepared for months for the five day event, which is classed the same as any other festival in the country.
“If you see, this festival here, it is no different than any other festival, be it the Hibiscus Festival or any other festival. I think we are entering on the same level. And, if you are in Savusavu, you’ll miss this opportunity if you don’t come here. So, I am encouraging all the people of Savusavu, entire Cakaudrove, and entire Vanua Levu to be part of the festival.”
Chand says five queens are vying for the crown and the winner will represent Savusavu hers at the Miss Fiji pageant later in the year.
The theme for the Carnival is Go Green: Stop Global Warming which is in line with Fiji’s Presidency COP 23.
