HFC Bank and FRCA sign MOU

September 15, 2015 7:17 pm

Fiji Revenue and Customs Chief Executive Officer Jitoko Tikolevu and HFC Bank CEO Isikeli Tikoduadua signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday that will allow importers to make customs payments at HFC Bank.

HFC Bank CEO Isikeli Tikoduadua says importers can expect a quicker transaction when clearing their items.

“When importers do their payments the problem they used to have is how soon they can clear their goods, through this collaboration, one thing is definite is once they do their payment, they go from here to the port to clear their goods, thats why we’re calling it the Real Time Customs Clearance”

The MOU sees FRCA guiding importers to HFC Bank’s Internet Banking Facility as an easier alternative to standing in line at FRCA offices.

Once the green light is given by the Bank, customs officers clear consignments within twenty four hours.

The service is being rolled out in Suva first and will progressively be introduced in other ports.
