The Sugar Cane Growers Fund has agreed to assist cane growers with a soft loan following the recent cyclone.

Sugar Cane Growers Council Acting CEO – Sundresh Chetty says growers can obtain loan up to $5,000 under the Priority Landing Scheme for which no security is required.

Chetty says specialized loan of up to $50, 000 can also be made available.

“We are encouraging growers those who are facing difficulties they can make their application with the Sugar Cane growers fund. There are several criteria’s but it has been agreed that there will be some flexibility in processing the loan applications.”

Meanwhile Chetty says those growers facing difficulties in obtaining the loan should contact the council.
